Robert "Bob" G. Rutledge, born June 18, 1933, in Shannon County, passed away on July 31, 2022. He was a 1952 graduate of Birch Tree High School. Then going on to attend Southwest Missouri State College, graduating in 1959, and Drury College, earning a Masters in Education in 1966.

Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served for two years. He taught shop in Forsyth, MO and later at Pipkin, Hickory Hills and Parkview in Springfield, MO. He was also an advocate for many in his job at Vocational Rehab in Springfield.

Bob was a longtime member of Broadway Methodist Church and a friend to many. He never met a stranger, always being quick with a smile and a helping hand.

Bob was preceded in death by his son Stanley. He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Barbara, his children Steve and Belinda of Lamar, SusAnn of Ozark, Scott and Mendy of Springfield and Stuart and Stephanie of Ozark; his grandchildren Jessie, Jarrod, Taylor and Tyler Kennon, Hailey and Andrew Magnus, Tinsley, Ian and Claire; and his great-grandchildren KamRay, Aspynn and Penelope.

His family would like to thank the staff at Cox Health for their excellent care in his final days.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
