Robert "Bob" Roland Rohwedder was born February 20, 1932 in his grandparent's home near Newell, IA and went to be with our Lord on January 1, 2022 in Springfield, MO.

Bob grew up on a farm near Albert City, IA.  Bob was athletic and excelled in all sports, receiving All-State honors and a football scholarship to Iowa State University.  Bob majored in Animal Husbandry, joined Sigma Chi fraternity and ROTC, and met Caryl Ives whom he married upon graduating in 1954.

Bob and Caryl moved to Alexandria, VA where Bob reported for active duty at Fort Belvoir Army Base in Fairfax, VA.  Bob was honorably discharged in 1956 as a First Lieutenant and spent his next 40 years as a livestock buyer for Hormel Foods in Austin, MN, Miami, OK, Bismarck, ND and Springfield, MO until his retirement in 1996.

Bob was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church in Springfield where he served faithfully in several ministries.  Bob also served for several years on the Board of Directors for Home of Hope, Inc, based in Vinita, OK.  Bob enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with family and friends.  He was also quite skilled at woodworking. He built his own workshop and made numerous items, both large and small, for family, friends, the church and fundraisers.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Caryl; daughters Janet Rohwedder, Sharon Earley (Ray) of Tulsa, OK and Laura Darden (Randy) of Ridgedale, MO; grandchildren Renée Earley, Elizabeth Reid and Jason Earley; three nieces and a nephew.  Preceding Bob in passing were his parents Roland and Esther (Christensen) Rohwedder, brother Donald Rohwedder, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 16, 2021 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 17 at King's Way United Methodist Church.
