Robert N. Powers, age 63, was granted his angel wings on November 13, 2011 at his home in Springfield, MO. Mr. Powers was born in Columbia, MO on March 25, 1948. Bob grew up in Springfield and graduated from Glendale High School in 1966. After graduation he served in the Navy from 1967 to 1970. He spent many years working in the retail and service industries. He was an avid Cardinals fan as was his father. Bob was fortunate to see his beloved team win the 2011 World Series prior to his death. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and William T. Powers, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandy Powers of Springfield, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Michelle Martin of Springfield, MO; daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Jay Dieterich of Belton, MO and Michelle and Russ Steinbrook of Welda, KS. Bob was blessed with six grandchildren: Erica and husband Ryan Pratt of Wichita, KS; Stephanie Steinbrook and fiancé Mikey Johnson of Belton, MO; Courtney Martin and fiancé Heath Sanborn of Springfield, MO; Tyler Martin and fiancé Rachel Morin of Raymore, MO; Christopher Steinbrook of Iola, KS; Joey Steinbrook of Welda, KS; and seven great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his only brother, William T. Powers III, sister-in-law, Twila Powers of Orrick, MO and nephew Jason Powers of Kearney, MO. In special recognition, Bob loved and considered neighbor, Hazel Gibbs as his adopted Mother. She will continue to be a part of our family forever.
