Robert O'Rourke, 87 of Springfield passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 2:26 Pm in Cox South. He was born October 26, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri. Robert spent the majority of his life in St. Louis as an accountant and after retiring moved to Springfield. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and loved his dogs. He also enjoyed attending to his many plants and singing at The Montclair. Robert was a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church and also volunteered there. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Anne Sutton O'Rourke, his daughter, Gloria Rosenberger and granddaughter, Christy Rosenberger. He is survived by two daughters, Anne Nelson of Springfield and Patricia Brownlee of St. Louis; grandchildren, Robert and Zach Nelson and Rebecca Wagner and his great-children. Memorial services will be Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 Pm in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the Reverend Lori Lampert officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Girl Scouts of Missouri Heartland, 210 S.
