Obituary

Robert Earl Larmer, son of the late Emmett Earl and Nellie Faye (Luttrell) Larmer, was born on August 18, 1929 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and passed away on April 24, 2021 in Monett, Missouri, at 91 years of age.

Bob graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1947 and married his high school sweetheart Wanda Jean Spurgeon on December 9, 1948. They attended Second Baptist Church for over 50 years. He served in the United States Air Force and was employed at Colonial Bread, Foremost Dairies, and GlaxoSmithKline Beechum where he earned numerous pharmaceutical sales awards and retired after over 30 years of hard work. He loved golfing, hunting, and cars and worked at 166 Auto Auction for many years after retiring. Bob was a St. Louis Cardinals and MSU Bears basketball fan and enjoyed watching golf tournaments on television.  He loved spending time with his family at cookouts and birthday parties and was lovingly known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Pa Bob.

He is survived by his son, Mike Larmer (Jana) of Monett, Missouri, brother, Thomas Larmer of Grants Pass, Oregon, sister-in law Felice Larmer of Marana, Arizona, sister-in law Wilda Todd (Tom) of Mountain Grove, Missouri, brother-in-law, Sonny Spurgeon of Sparta, Missouri, three granddaughters, Michelle Wollberg (Joshua), Kelli Norvell (Derek), and Alana Larmer, two great-grandchildren, Halle Norvell and Cameron Wollberg, many nieces and nephews and other relatives, friends, church family, and special family friend Geri Upp, who will all dearly miss him.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jean (Spurgeon) Larmer, his son, Keith Larmer, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wilma and Junior Duey, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlene and Tip Forrest, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Willard and Connie Spurgeon.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, Springfield, Missouri. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
