Robert (Bob) Kocevar, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at home on January 8th, 2024 at the age of 89.
Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on July 11, 1934, to Frank and Mary Kocevar, Bob was raised on the family farm before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1956. Serving as base security at Andrews Air Force Base and Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. After his release from active duty, he began a long career in the farming and heavy equipment industry. Including a stint at Oliver Corporation where he met his wife of sixty years, Gloria Napier. After moving to Blue Springs, Missouri Bob served as the heavy equipment service manager for Victor L. Phillips Corporation and quickly became a diehard fan of the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. After retirement he and his wife moved to Springfield, Missouri to be close to family. His pride and joy was enjoying his four grandkids.
Bob is survived by his wife Gloria and two daughters, Kara Crockett and Kelly Baldwin, grandchildren Beau, Brett, Annabel and Zane, and his brother Frank. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary, and his siblings Margaret, Mary, and Dorothy.
A private graveside service with internment and full military honors was held on January 11, 2024, at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
