Robert D. Heller, age 88, of Springfield passed away Monday, October 20, 2014. He was born December 19, 1925 in Ft. Scott, KS, the son of Nelson and Esther VonStrough Heller. Robert was a US Navy World War II Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hazel; and three brothers, Samuel, Nelson and Marion. Robert is survived by daughter, Patti (Merle) Ash; two granddaughters, Debbi (Keith) Campbell and Karen Ash; and two great-granddaughters, Noelle and Elizabeth. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with the Reverend Jess Roberds officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home.
