Robert Eugene Gammon, 87 of Springfield passed away at 8:10 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Glendale Gardens. He was born in Springfield on June 21, 1927 to the late Fred and Frieda Kapp Gammon. After graduation he joined the Navy and was deployed on the Indiana during WW II. He started in the cattle business at Gammon and Gammon with his dad who later died in a car accident when Bob was 21. Bob eventually took over the business that then became Bob Gammon Cattle Company. He was a member of University Heights Baptist Church. Bob was a very loving and wonderful husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank Regional Hospice for their excellent care. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dottie Jean O'Dell Gammon; three children, Jane, Jill and husband, Kim Spalding, and Gary and wife, Laura; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Jadidian and Jessika Downing. Celebration services of Bob's life will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 with a visitation at 1:00 pm and a service at 2:00 pm in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with burial to follow at 3:00 pm in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
