Robert Earl Ellsworth, 75, passed away on January 2, 2026 at home, following a short illness. Robert, also known as Bob, was a graduate of Glendale High School, class of 1968. Following high school graduation, he attended Missouri State University in Springfield for several years.

Robert later moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he lived for many years before returning to Springfield approximately 30 years ago after the passing of his father, where he worked at Bass Pro and looked after his mother, who also lived in Springfield.

Robert was born in Kansas to William and Maxine (Shields) Ellsworth on July 10, 1950. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary William Ellsworth, his father, William Muth Ellsworth and his mother, Maxine Shields Ellsworth.

Known survivors of Robert are Michael Puffinbarger, a cousin and family in Joplin, Missouri.

Private burial will be held at a later date in the family plot at Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg, Kansas. Arrangements are under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
