Robert E. "Bob" Lee, 94, Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021. He was born June 12, 1926 in Springfield, MO to Robert Leslie Lee and Eloise McGregor Lee. Bob attended Greenwood in Springfield, Culver Military Academy in Culver, Indiana, graduating in 1944, and Drury College in 1950. While at Drury, Bob met his future wife, Marguerite Wetzel. They were married on July 21, 1951. To this union they had four children, Robert E. "Eddie", Gail Ellen, Margaret Eloise and Lesley Erwin. Upon graduation from Drury, Bob entered the family business, Elkins-Swyers and had a long and distinguished career. He later purchased Inland Printing and served as President and Chairman of both companies. Bob sold Elkins-Swyers in 1987 and retired. Bob and Marguerite spent the next 32 years spending most of the year in their home on Maui. Bob was a past member of the Downtown Rotary Club and a member of Hickory Hills Country Club.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Peggy.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marguerite; son, Eddie and wife, Jodi; daughters, Gail Welsh and husband, Rick, and Lesley Lee; grandchildren, Rob Lee and wife, Danielle, Piper Lee, Josef Welsh and wife, Stephanie, Patrick Carter, and Jeremy Carter and wife, Julie; great-granddaughter, Willa Welsh; and great-grandsons, Robison Lee, Jace Lee and Remington Carter.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Private family services will be held in Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society, Drury University or Culver Academy, 1300 Academy Road, Culver, Indiana 46511.
