Rita Eleanor (Dittmer) Greenwood moved from her earthly life to her eternal life, July 23, 1926- July 23, 2015 She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marie Dittmer, her daughter Rita Marie, and her siblings: Rosemary (Dittmer) Hopp, Teresa (Dittmer) Lowrey, Robert, Raymond and Richard Dittmer. Rita is survived by her children: Robert Greenwood (Molene), Anthony Greenwood (Mary), Nell Marie Greenwood Marsh (Robert) and Bernadette Greenwood, her grandchildren Rodney, Jennifer, Nicole, Jason, Anna, Adam, Andrew, Ann, James, Anthony and nine great-grandchildren. After actively practicing nursing for over 30 years, Rita retired from St. John's Regional Hospital in 1994. Since 1964, Rita was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church, attending daily mass, prayer group and Bible study. She was blessed with a healthy mind, body and spirit, which allowed her to enjoy life to the fullest. Family and friends will gather at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 3555 S. Fremont, Springfield, on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 10:00 am. All are also welcome to join us for her celebration of life mass at 11:00 am.
