Richard Raymond Russell, age 55, of Kimberling City passed away at 3:46 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Cox South. Rick was born November 3, 1958 in Kansas City, MO to John Paul and Pat Smith Russell. He grew up in Leawood, Kansas, was a graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School, attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland and later the University of Oregon in Eugene. Following college, he returned to Kansas City and joined his family's business, the I.D. Russell Company, a poultry pharmaceutical manufacturer. Rick was married to Cynthia Louise Blagg in 1985. The company was relocated to Longmont, Colorado in 1990. He sold his portion of the business and then retired in 1993. He moved back to Missouri in 1994 settling south of Nixa on the James River, where he developed River Ridge and established River Ridge Ranch adjacent to the subdivision, where he raised his family. Rick was a businessman, real estate developer, cattleman, and pursued the good life. He enjoyed house boating and bass fishing with his many friends on his beloved Table Rock Lake (and anywhere else he could wet his line). Rick and Cindy recently accomplished his dream of moving permanently to their lake home, near Kimberling City so he could fish and tell fish stories from dawn to dusk. He is survived by wife, Cindy Russell; son, Corbin L. Russell and his fiancé, Stephanie of Baxter Springs, KS; daughter, Audra M. Russell and her fiancé, Mason of Columbia, MO; brother, John (Kathy) Russell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister, Vicki Icenogle of Camdenton, MO; niece, Liz Icenogle (Mark) Joseph; and nephews, Tyler Russell and Chris Icenogle and his son, Daniel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
