Fredrick "Rick" W. Haegg, age 58 of Springfield passed away at 10:00 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Springfield at home with wife and family by his side. Rick had a degree in classical guitar from MSU (SMS) and bachelor and master degrees from Drury University in music therapy. He taught at OTC for several years. He was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. Rick is preceded in death by his father, Robert Haegg. He is survived by wife, Abigail Haegg and her daughter Kristina; mother, Katharine Haegg; brother, David Haegg of St. Louis, MO; sister, Mary K. Haegg of Springfield; brother, Jon (Vickey) Haegg of O'Fallon, MO; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Lizcano of Pharr, TX; uncle and aunt, Stan and Jerre Van Sooy of Eagle, CO; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with Dr. Andrew Chaney officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OTC Foundation, 1001 E. Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, MO 65802 with "in memory of Rick Haegg" in the memo line for the Rick Haegg Scholarship through the OTC Fine Arts and Music Department.
