Richard Dale Sanders of Springfield, MO passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the age of 75 years. Richard was born on April 16, 1936 in Mountain Grove, MO to Lou Walter and Rebecca Ann (nee Davis) Sanders, the fourth of six children. He married Carolyn Rebecca "Becky" Lucas of Mountain Grove on August 22, 1954 in Corinth, MS and to this marriage three children were born. Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Glenstone Baptist Church in 1956. He and Becky were members of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield for over 47 years Richard was a 43-year employee of the Kraft Food Company, starting to work for them at their Mountain Grove facility in 1952 and later transferring to Springfield in September 1954. Richard was a hard-working and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, coaching his daughter's softball teams, working on his well-manicured lawn, taking his grandchildren skiing and watching them play a multitude of sports. Richard is survived by three daughters; Lou Ann Galloway and husband Mike of Dexter, MO, Linda Garges and husband Mark of Cameron, MO and Donna Tiefenbrunn and husband Marty of Sullivan, MO; six grandchildren; Cory Galloway and wife Emily, Chad Galloway, Chase Galloway and fiancée Andrea Duncan, Wes Garges and wife Lindsay, Matthew Tiefenbrunn and wife Kaylen, Brock Tiefenbrunn and fiancée Brittani Fields and Morgan Tiefenbrunn; one brother, Lars Sanders of Willard and two sister in-laws, Sylvia Sanders of Oak Grove, MO and Venita Sanders of Kansas City, MO along with many nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Burley Ernest and Mabel Hazel (nee Moore) Lucas; brothers Darrell, Walter and Jackie Sanders, sister Betty Richert, brother in-law Dr. Robert Richert and sister in-laws Bonnie and Susan Sanders. Services for Richard Sanders will be conducted at South Haven Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011 with visitation being held from 9:30 -11 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home of Springfield, MO. Interment will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
