Richard Daniel Ness passed away December 17, 2013 in Mercy Hospital. He was born February 5, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to George and Marie Ness. Richard served honorably in the Army Korean War. For many years he worked as an auctioneer and owned auction houses in Springfield, MO and Des Moines, IA. Richard married his wife Diane February 14, 1989. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George; first wife, Rose; and mother-in-law, Lucille Oshner. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Diane; sister, Lorraine; daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Tom; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ruel McConnell; niece, Linda; two grandchildren; and great-nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Richard will be held at 10 am, Friday, December 20, 2013 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 1711 N. Glenstone Avenue, Springfield, MO 65803.
