On Sunday, March 21, 2021, Richard H. Kimrey, Sr, loving father and friend, passed away at the age of 88.

Richard was born on July 24, 1932 in Plato, MO to Francis (Henry) and Ruby Kimrey. Richard spent 25 years in the United States Navy, 1951-1976, honorably serving in Korea and Vietnam. After retirement from the Navy, Richard attended School of the Ozarks (now College of the Ozarks) obtaining degrees in sociology and criminal justice.

Richard had two great loves: his family and nature. Richard loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, often entertaining them with his "Sea Stories" from his adventures in the Navy and stories of his life in the backwoods of Texas County as a child. He also loved to spend time working outdoors. The hard work and seeing nature around him filled his soul.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Francis (Henry) and Ruby, as well as his siblings, Irene, Evan, and Carolyn. Richard is survived by his three children, Karen, April and Richard Jr. (Lisa) as well as five grandchildren (Lisa, Ashley, Jade, Joshua and Sara) and two great grandchildren (Mya and Reese).

Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Private burial with full military honors will be held in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
