Richard Wiles Haege, age 69 of Springfield, MO passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek.  He fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Rick loved serving the people of Southern Missouri as first, a counselor, then a District Supervisor with Rehabilitation Services for the Blind.

He was proud to serve as treasurer for the McCullah-Wasson Reunion and was an avid golfer, fisherman and photographer as well as a canny poker player.  He was an exceptionally devoted husband and grandfather.  Rick enjoyed a full life surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Lyle Haege and Fannie (Wiles) Haege.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hamilton Haege, of the home, a daughter Jennifer Sue Haege, Springfield, MO, a grandson, William Richard Haege-Mayberry, Ft.Worth, TX and a sister Cynthia Scholz and her husband John, Springfield, MO; along with a large extended family.

Visitation is planned from 1 to 3:00 p.m. with the memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Plaster officiating.
