Richard Judson Dickerson, 85, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born on December 29, 1929 in Joplin, MO. Dick earned his degree from the University of Michigan and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served in the Army Auditing Service during the Korean War. He then worked for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY as a cost accountant, retiring after 28 years. He enjoyed philately, travelling, cooking, and bragging about his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Martha; five children, Nora Dickerson Ryan (Daniel), David M. Dickerson (Lori), Lisa Dickerson Waters (Clark), Kirk Wiseman, and Karen Wiseman Spaulding (Michael); four grandchildren, Clark L., Katie, Justin, and Duriel; and many other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ferrol Dickerson, and his first wife Beverly Leue Dickerson. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 12 pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.
