In loving memory of Richard Comer (Rick), age 63, born in Springfield, Missouri on January 26th, 1960, who peacefully departed this life surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, January 25th, 2024.
Richard, a devoted husband, father, and cherished grandfather, known as Papa by his grandchildren, is now united with the Lord. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Winifred Comer, and his brother Kenneth. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Janice, and leaves a lasting legacy through his four children: Arnetta Katherine Roberson (Brian), Leslie Morrow (Susie), Michael Morrow (Danielle), and Richard Comer II (Tiffany). He is also survived by his brother Gary (Susie) and sister Mary Hanson.
Richard's presence lives on through his five grandchildren: Shelby Martin of Kansas City, Quinn Martin II and Orion Martin of Springfield, and Zachary Morrow and Mary Morrow of Republic.
A dedicated Shriner and member of the Hazelwood Lodge of Seymour and Scottish Rite of Joplin, Richard touched the lives of numerous children through his sponsorship with the Shrine.
Known for his generous spirit, Richard never hesitated to lend a hand to a neighbor in need. His best friend and faithful companion, his Great Dane, Lexie, shared in countless moments of adventure and love, and Richard's passion for fishing brought joy and tranquility to his days. His love and generosity will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held at Gorman Scharpf on Wednesday, January 31st, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with memorial services following on Thursday, February 1st, at 1:00 pm.
