Richard Leonard Bolomey, 78, Springfield, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, surrounded by his family at Mercy Hospital.  He was born in Louisiana, Missouri, on January 20, 1943, to Leonard Martin Bolomey and Mary "Josephine" (Caldwell) Bolomey.

Richard was raised in Frankford, Missouri.  In 1966, he graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in accounting.  He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps as a reservist from 1966-1972.  He went on to own two Ole King Cole dry cleaners in Springfield from 1973-2008.  Richard was a member of South Haven Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by his wife of 34 years, Naomi (Bray O'Farrell) Bolomey; his children, Dr. Kristen Bolomey, West Palm Beach, FL, Julie Coble and husband, Mark, Springfield, Erin Warren and husband, David, Springfield, and Gene O'Farrell and wife, Scarlet, Springfield; four grandchildren, Ashley Warren, Noah Warren, Logan Coble and Landon Coble, all of Springfield; and his brother, Charles Gayle Bolomey and wife, Peggy, Frankford, MO.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, in South Haven Baptist Church with Reverend Ryan Palmer officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or South Haven Baptist Church, 2353 South Campbell Avenue, Springfield, MO 65807.
