IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rhonda Kay
Edge
September 5, 1953 – April 28, 2024
Rhonda Kay Edge, aged 70, passed away at home on April 28, 2024 from cancer.
Rhonda was born on September 5, 1953 to Stanley and Shirley Chudomelka in Springfield, Missouri, and grew up in Marshfield, Missouri. She spent a good number of her early years riding horses and working in her father's pharmacy soda fountain. Rhonda attended Drury University (then College), where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, graduating in 1974. She relished keeping in touch with her classmates. A friend introduced her to the love of her life, Roy, whom she married in 1977.
After school, Rhonda worked as a census interviewer, a bank teller, and concierge, until settling into a career as an accountant at Sam's Club, a position she held for 34 years before retiring. When she wasn't working, Rhonda excelled at a variety of talents including sewing, woodworking, baking, and cake decorating. She enjoyed helping others through her talents. She would sew special event outfits for friends and make birthday cakes for friends and family. Her Christmas goodies packages were highly anticipated every holiday. She loved to travel, visiting many countries and carefully planning cross-country road trips with family friends. Holidays, trips, and events were meticulously documented through her love of photography. Rhonda spent her down time attending Drury basketball games and enjoying the outdoors with her dogs and cats at Table Rock Lake. She and Roy were often out boating and even slalom skiing in their more nimble years.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Roy Edge of Springfield, MO; daughter, Rina Edge of Springfield, MO; sisters Regina Spriggs, of Marshfield, MO; and Rowena Hinojosa of San Jose, California.
