Rex Wayne Loveland, 65, was born September 26, 1946 to parents, Rex H. and Roberta M. at Burge Hospital in Springfield, MO and died suddenly April 22, 2012. Wayne is survived by his wife, Katie Langsford Loveland; his mother, Roberta of Battlefield, MO; his daughter, Lacey Davidson of Springfield; brothers and their spouses, Danny and Frankie Loveland and Randy and Judy Loveland; in-laws, Bob and Paula Vinyard; step-son, Robby Langsford; sister-in-law, Jennifer Vinyard, all of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Rex H. who passed away Aug. of 1995. Wayne was a Vietnam veteran in the Fourth Infantry where he received numerous medals. He returned from Vietnam December 10, 1968 when the fighting was very heavy. Wayne and many other brave soldiers could never forget these parts of the war. After his services to his country he was employed at Sweetheart Cup for 28 years and had many friends that he loved so dearly. After leaving Sweetheart Cup, he moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and married the love of his life, Katie Langsford Loveland on October 6, 1999. Wayne and Katie moved back to Springfield three years ago. Wayne loved animals, especially their cats. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society, or Disabled Veterans. Burial will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Chuck Wooten will be officiating the ceremony, with Don Evans performing the music under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
