Rex Leroy Hewitt born Aug 30th, 1935, to Matthew and Lavon Hewitt in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved to Kansas City with his family as a teenager and later married Alberta Sprague on May 8th, 1954. Together in this union they have one daughter Alexa.

Rex served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1960 as a lineman at Richards Gabour Air Force base. Rex had several employment adventures as a young man including car sales and a charter bus driver. He engaged in starting his own company in the water well pump business in Aug 1977 then further expanded this business into Hewitt Well Drilling and Pump Service in 1981. Later he entered into real estate rental at which time he acquired commercial and residential rentals.

Rex is survived by his daughter Alexa and her spouse Wendell Martin; three grandsons Robert, Daniel and Benjamin Martin; his brother Jerry Hewitt and spouse; sister Patsy and spouse; and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
