IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Renata Hannelore
Ressdorf
February 20, 1972 – September 7, 2022
Renata, who was also known as Renny, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2022 at home.
A registered nurse, Renata was a 2014 graduate of Ozark Technical College with an Associate of Science in Nursing (A.S.N.) degree. She was a 1992 graduate of Kickapoo High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University where she majored in Psychology.
Prior to the pandemic, Renata was employed at Lakeland Behavioral Health System, working primarily the night shift. More recently she was on the staff at Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Springfield.
Renata was born in Bangkok, Thailand, where her father was assigned to Fifth Field Army Hospital. When she returned to the States, she was nearly three and more fluent in Thai than in English. She was fascinated by American television, particularly commercials and mastered the theme songs and jingles of dozens of products. On trips to the Commissary, she would sit in the grocery cart and amuse herself singing and reciting the tag lines for every product she recognized, like: "Mommy, don't squeeze the Charmin" much to the amusement of other shoppers.
Renata was an avid reader who loved cats and English Bulldogs. She was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening. She had a knack for rejuvenating even the most pathetic, ready for the trashbin house plant, especially Poinsettias.
Her niece, Ria Jade Ressdorf Williams of Valdosta, Georgia who is also a nurse, was especially dear to her heart.
Renata is survived by her parents, Horst and Patricia Ressdorf; bonus grandmother, Joan Ressdorf; her brother and his wife, Robin and Patty Ressdorf; niece, Robyn Estep and children, Ashlyn and Landon; niece, Ria Jade Ressdorf Williams her husband, Trey and their children, Vin and Ress.
Memorial visitation will be held from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
