Rebecca Hubbell Alberty passed away in her sleep on February 2nd, 2017 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Springfield, MO.

Rebecca Sue Hubbell was born September 25, 1942 in Springfield, MO. She graduated Parkview High School in 1960 and graduated Southwest Missouri State University in 1964. She was a long time employee of Springfield public schools until her retirement in 2001.

While in college she met her husband Paul Tony Alberty who preceded her in death in 1992. She was a long time member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, anglophile and follower of the royal family, as well as being politically active as a lifelong "yellow dog" Democrat.

Survivors include her sons, Frederick (Fritz) Alberty and wife Elaine of Savannah, MO; Kurt Alberty and wife Stephanie of Hawthorne, CA; four grandchildren: Scott, James, Emma and Konrad; a sister Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Brown of Edmond, OK; and cousin Mary Jenny Kuhn of Springfield, MO.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, at 2:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 1 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home.
