Obituary

Rayburn D. Loughrige, 88 of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 in the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born on December 15, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri to George and Mayme Sneed Loughrige. Rayburn retired from the Frisco Railroad, and was U.S. Navy veteran of World War 2 and the Korean Conflict. Rayburn is preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Rayburn Loughrige. Rayburn is survived by his wife Catherine of the home, son Craig Loughrige and wife Sue, daughter Lisa Solomon and husband John; six grandchildren Brian Loughrige and wife Valerie, Ryan Solomon, Allison Solomon, David Coutchie and wife Lori, Douglas Chowning and wife Rosa, Stuart Coutchie and wife Ilana; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Tyler Loughrige, Douglas, Evan, and Adam Coutchie. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks, 949 East Primrose, Springfield, Missouri 65807.
