Randy Folk, 60, was born April 11, 1952 in Springfield, MO to Henry Bernie Folk and Myrtle Louise Irish Folk and passed away on August 21, 2012 in Springfield, MO after being diagnosed with ALS in April of 2010. Randy was a 1971 graduate of Glendale high school and later from Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in Accounting. While in high school, Randy played Split End and Wide Receiver in football and was also participated in track. After graduating from college, he worked for Heer's Department stores, eventually becoming a Buyer, Store Manager, and later General Manager. Randy was active in Scouting, served as a volunteer for A Sporting Chance, and was honored as a long term platelet thoraces donor by the Red Cross. He was also a bird watching enthusiast, loved to take float trips, and enjoyed fishing. In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Folk. Randy is survived by his wife, Debbie Folk; son, Dr. Derek Keith Folk and wife Michelle of San Antonio, TX; daughter Mindy Michelle Folk of the home; sister Carol Hollowell and husband Bruce of Springfield, MO; sister-in-law Lexi Warnar of Fair Grove, MO; Nieces Heather Phillips of St. Louis, MO, Nicole Sipple and husband Ray and children Zoie and Slade of Austin, TX; Nephew Bryce Hollowell of Chattanooga, TN; loving friend and neighbor, Brenda Toler and a granddaughter on the way. . Memorial Services will be Friday, August 24, 2012 at 3:00pm in Gorman Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in the funeral home.
