In Loving Memory of Randall Steven Munson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Munson, who departed this life on March 25, 2026, in Springfield, MO. Randy was a cherished member of our family, known for his kindness, friendship, and fun-loving spirit. Born in Arlington Heights, IL on November 20, 1956, the fourth child to Ethelyn & Walter. Through his 69 years, Randy touched many lives through his dedication to family & friends.

Randy graduated from Arlington Heights High School and went on to get his BS Degree in Finance from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. While having a good time in Carbondale Randy also earned a Certificate of Commendation for Business Calculus. Those skills in numbers launched him into a career in real estate relocation with Coldwell Banker. He continued his career at Household Relocation & finished at Chase Financial. When he wasn’t working Randy loved happy times spent with fellow golfers & fishermen. When he wasn’t golfing Randy loved spending time with his family, moving to Springfield, MO from Naperville in 2015 to be closer.

Randy may have been “numbers guy”, but he had a risk-taking side too. He took his first skydiving jump at 20 yrs old and loved his regular Poker Nights with the boys in Arlington Heights. He had a quirky sense of humor that will be missed. He was a true friend to those who knew him. A “genuinely nice guy” as friends would describe him.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Fikar. He is survived by his brother & sister (Rick Munson & Pam Hansen), his nephews (Jeff Munson, Dane Hansen, & Brett Hansen), and his nieces (Jennifer Hunt & Jill Assad) who will forever treasure the memories and lessons shared. Randy's legacy remains in the hearts and minds of all who knew them, and their impact will be felt for years to come. Those special times together etched in our minds.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 13, 2026 @ 2 pm, at the home of Pam & Rex Hansen where friends and loved ones are invited to gather and celebrate a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Forest Preserves of Cook County (www.fotfp.org) in Randy's honor.

Randy will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his soul rest in peace. Gone Fishin’.
