IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ramona S.
Lewis
March 15, 1935 – March 10, 2019
Ramona S. Lewis (Wellner), 83, of Springfield, Missouri went to be with the Lord at 7:02 am Sunday, March 10, 2019, in her home with her daughters by her side.
Born on March 15, 1935, in Gettysburg, South Dakota, Ramona Wellner, known to her siblings as Monie, was one of six (5 girls and one boy). In her life she went from a small town in South Dakota to a worldwide ministry at the side of her beloved husband, Dr. David Allen Lewis (1932-2007). They traveled the world ministering about the Bible and especially the importance of Israel in Bible prophecy. From Israel to China, to Europe and more they literally traveled the world. She was the co-host of their television program, Prophecy Digest. She assisted her husband as he wrote 40 books, and at the age of 80 she wrote her first book entitled "Lives Well Lived."
When asked to describe her, people invariably say, sweet, gentle, loving, kind. She loved to dress up and bling was the name of the game! A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; they all rose to call her blessed (Proverbs 31). When faced with difficulties her response was "But, God."
When her husband passed away, she continued their ministry until her retirement in 2017.
She is survived by daughters, Rev. Rebecca J. Brimmer and Rev. Cassandra Lewis Howell; sons-in-law Rev. Thomas J. Brimmer and Rev. J. Neil Howell; grandchildren, David Ben-Joseph Howell and Elizabeth Howell Massengale (Jason); great-grandchildren, Jack, Abbi and Isaac; sisters, Ellen Wellner Morrison and Audrey Wellner Doggett; nieces and nephews, friends and her faithful furry companion Bob (aka Sababa Shalom).
Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. David Allen Lewis (2007), parents, Henry and Ardeena Wellner; sisters, Peggy Steele and Virginia Horton and brother Douglas Wellner.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bridges for Peace, for the Ramona Lewis Israel memorial fund, P.O. Box 410037, Melbourne, FL 32941-0037.
