Ralph E. Davidson, age 97, of Springfield, MO passed away Monday, August 29, 2022.

He was born December 7, 1924 in Springfield, MO the son of Vernon and Lillie (Spivey). Ralph was united in marriage to Betty (Daniel) Davidson on May 16, 1948 in Springfield, MO by Rev. Lynn Swadley.

He was drafted on his 18 ^th birthday into World War II under General Patton in the 1st Armored Division fighting in the European theater, including the brutal invasion of Anzio, receiving four bronze stars. He was employed as a Correctional Officer for the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, MO. He was a pilot for over 60 years and one of the early members of the Hedgehoppers flying club in Springfield, MO. Ralph was of the Baptist faith, a devout believer in God, and had a deep love for his family. His priorities were faith, family and country. You would have no doubt where he stood in each of these beliefs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings and wife. Ralph is survived by two sons, Dan Davidson, of Chesterfield, MO and Phil and spouse Kim Davidson, of Republic, MO; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home located at 1947 E. Seminole with funeral services to follow with Rev. Dave Brown officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel cemetery at 5234 W. Division St.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
