Quay Ung, Springfield, passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas from complications of pneumonia. He was born in Canton, China. His family immigrated to Vietnam where he met his wife of 50 years, SeMui. He and SeMui came to Springfield with their seven children in 1980. Two years later he began his career in the restaurant business, opening Hong Kong Inn. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, seeing his customers in the restaurant and most of all, spending time with his loving family. He is survived by his wife, his seven children and their families, Tai Tang and husband Si and their children, Tony and Emily; Cindy Lu and husband Joe and their children, Sandra, Amy and Jerry; Vincent and wife Thi and their children Simon, Benjamin and Matthew; Mimi Wong and husband Rick and their children, Christopher, Erin and Ariel; Steve and wife Elaine and their children, Brandon and Britney; Stacy Rohrbaugh and husband Michael and their children, Hannah and Tyler; and Sat and his girlfriend Rina. He is also survived by one brother in Vietnam and one sister in China and special friends Gary and Pat Hrnicek. American services will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, July 24, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. A traditional Chinese ceremony will be held at 7 a.m., Sunday also in the funeral home followed by interment in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
