Priscilla M. Logsdon, age 61 of Springfield, MO passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 in Cox South Hospital. She was born in Limerick, Ireland on March 11, 1951. Her parents were John McSweeney and Madeline Hennessy, both are now deceased. At the age of 12, Priscilla came to the United States after the death of her father. Priscilla graduated from Springfield Catholic High School. She then went to St. John's Hospital School of X-Ray Technology. After graduating, she worked in that field for 35 years. She worked at all three hospitals and then went on to work at the Federal Medical Center, where she retired from after 21 years of service. Another proud time in Priscilla's life was becoming a Citizen of the United States. She was proud of this country and the flag it stands for. Priscilla married Burnley (Bernie) Logsdon and they shared over 38 years together. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially when they took her mother with them. She had several dogs and cats; she loved them very much. Priscilla loved reading the Bible and prayed a lot. She said there were times she felt Jesus was standing beside her bed. She spent a lot of time reading and it gave her much comfort. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bernie; sister, Alexandra McSweeney; nephew, Mark; niece, Melissa and husband, Shawn. Priscilla also leaves behind her beloved cat, Tiger. She was preceded in death by her brother, Oliver McSweeney. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 12 from 6-7 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an Animal Shelter or the Victory Mission.
