Prema Nayar, 77, Springfield, MO, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2022.  She was born June 5, 1945 in Trichur, Kerala State, India, the daughter of Daya Devi and Menon Sanker.

She moved here from Port Orange, FL, a year ago and became a member of Rotary Club of Springfield, Downtown, Toastmaster's Club Downtown, Springfield, American Association of University Women (AAUA) Florida Chapter, League of Women Voters (LWV) Florida Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daya Devi and Menon Sanker; and two sisters, Renuka Menon and Chitra Menon.

Prema is survived by her husband, Ram Nayar, Springfield; son, Sailesh Nayar; daughter-in-law, Patricia Nayar; grandchildren, Jason Nayar and Hannah Nayar, all of Springfield; brother, Prafulla Sanker, Bombay (Mumbai) India; and a sister, Bindu Bala Chandran, Bangalore, India.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 in St. James Episcopal Church with the Reverend John Biggs, officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crosslines or Care to Learn, both in Springfield.
