Phyllis Bryant passed peacefully on January 19, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born on October 15, 1931, in Boonville, MO to Kathleen and Leon Tickner. After graduating high school, she attended business school in Boonville.

She was very active in the church choir and also taught music in her church for the youth choir.

She was very passionate about music and was involved with Springfield Little Theatre as well as Springfield Regional Opera. The last opera she was in was La Traviata which she was able to do with her daughter, Sally.

She loved gardening, sewing, and cooking. Phyllis also had a great love of animals.

She worked for and sold insurance for several companies over the years until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Kathleen Tickner, her brother Jack, and her daughter Kathy.

She is survived by her daughter, Sally. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Scott Burge, Alyssa Carpenter and her husband Todd, Brandy Stefonek and her husband Chris, and Zachary Newton. She had 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews she leaves behind.

Phyllis also leaves behind her extended family at Jordan Creek who cared for her for almost five years.

Memorial Service will be at 2:30 PM, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, under the direction of Heather Howell and Don Lohmeyer.
