Snider
January 2, 1941 – February 20, 2021
Phyllis Ann Snider (Chamberlin) of Nixa, MO passed away on February 20, 2021. She was born in Boonville, MO on January 2, 1941 to George and Mary Chamberlin. She graduated from Boonville High School and worked for American Family Insurance as a secretary to Underwriting for 10 years while her three children attended high school and college.
She is survived by her husband, David of 61 years and three children: Barbara and her husband Jeff of Denver, Colorado, Jennifer and her husband Brad of Nixa, and Alan and his wife Susie of Blue Eye. She has six grandchildren, Carlee, Brendan, Gavin, Mackenzie and her husband Christian, Kathleen, and Julia. She is also survived by her sister's Sharon (Paul) Ziegelbein and Nancy (George) Shull. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John Chamberlin.
Phyllis will be fondly remembered for her love for her family, and her grandkids had a special place in her heart. She loved to watch them perform in various sports and loved to visit with them especially during the holidays. Her family was blessed by her cooking and were always excited when she made her signature apple sauce, chocolate chip cookies, and her homemade Christmas caramels and creams that were the best. She enjoyed playing bridge with the same group of ladies since 1973. She also had a love for travel, and she and her husband visited all 50 states as well as all but one of the Canadian Providences, plus many foreign countries across 6 continents.
Services will be held at Schweitzer United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 26, 2021. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the church, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.
