Phyllis Mae Redden, 81, Springfield, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, August 7, 2010 in her home. She was born September 9, 1928 in St. Louis, the daughter of Clarence and Bessie (Nelson) Mattson. Phyllis married Joseph M. Redden on December 31, 1947. She was a loving wife for over 60 years. While in St. Louis, Phyllis was active in the Parent Teacher Association, Mothers Club and Girl Scouts. She was also a cross walk guard and volunteered her time as a room mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and a grandson, Clint Huff and his wife Linda, who both passed away in September 2007. Phyllis is survived by her son, Joseph P. Redden; daughters, Joellyn "Toni" Montgomery and her husband, Richard; and Michelle "Micki" Huff and her husband, Brad; grandchildren, Julie Montgomery, Theresa Huff, Tami Montgomery-Brown and her husband, Steven; and Chett Huff and his wife, Clare; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with Chaplain Cliff Rawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood, Springfield, MO 65804.
