Obituary

Phyllis (Phyll) Caudill Ford, 83, left this world in peace on October 18, 2015 at 11:23 pm. Phyllis resided at Elfindale Manor in Springfield, MO. Phyll was born September 14, 1932 in Lawrenceville, IL to Everett and Eunice Caudill. The youngest of four sisters, Phyllis is preceded in death by Mildred Sager of Sumner, IL, Joyce Hensley and Imogene Guinn of St. Petersburg, FL. Phyll is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Henry Ford who passed in September 2011 from lung cancer. Phyll is survived by daughter Cheri D Phillips of Kimberling City, MO and granddaughters Lindsey Marquis and Amanda Phillips. She has one great grandson, Dylan Marquis, son of Lindsey Marquis; daughter Christine L Ford of Bloomington, IN and granddaughters, Laura Telthorst, Margaret Telthorst, and Julia Telthorst; daughter Cinda L Ford of Houston TX and granddaughter Cameron: and son Patrick Ford of Olney IL. Phyll started her career after the children were out on their own and worked as a price data collector for the Consumer Price Index for several years. After that she found her "home" in the real estate industry. She was licensed as a real estate agent in 1978, and as a broker in 1986. In 1988, she was elected as President-Elect of the Findlay Board of Realtors. She served on various board committees at the local and state level, and was awarded the Ohio Association of Realtors Award of Distinction. She was also a lifetime member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame Club and a member of the RE/MAX 100 Percent Club. In 1994, Phyll was named Realtor of the Year by the Findlay Board of Realtors. She retired from real estate in 2000. In 1993, Phyll and husband Hank were appointed by Fourth District U.S. Congressman Michael G. Oxley, R-Findlay, as one of the delegates to attend the week long Senior Citizen Intern Program held in Washington, D.C. Phyll and Hank loved playing tennis, square dancing and vacationing in Hilton Head. She was an active member of PEO. Phyll and Hank were also active members of the First Presbyterian Church. A private family interment service will be held to celebrate Phyll, her unfailing commitment to family and friends, and her zest for life.
