Phillip (Phil) Eldon Skillings age 70 of Springfield, Missouri was born on June 14, 1950 and passed away on November 15 , 2020 .

Phil was born in Puxico, Missouri to Dr. Franc i s and Frances Skillings .  Phil attended Popular Bluff High School and grad uated in 1968. He attended Missouri State University and earned a Bachelors of Biology and Chemistry. Most of his early to mid li fe was spent working for Consumers Market where he worked his way up from stock er to management. He worked as a sales rep for R & N Smith until he recently retired.

Phil was married to Carolyn Cannaday from 1970-1995.  They had one son, Brian, who was the highlight of his lif e . He beamed with pride while he watched his son grown into the man h e is today .  Phil spent his remaining years with s ignificant other Margaret Wiltscheck and her son Daeg h an .

Phil was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Francis Skillings and Frances Skillings .

Phil is survived by his son Brian (Jill), sister Mary K Forrester (Leonard), nephew Leonard, significant other Margaret, stepson Daeghan and family, cousins; Neal, Noel, Joel, and Nancey Buttry and several other family and friends who will miss him.

Phil loved being outdoors and enjoyed a variety of activities.  His hobbies included gardening, hiking, and sailing.  One of his biggest passions was trout fishing at Bennett Springs State Park and he diligently attended every opening day since the 1970s. Phil was known for his love and loyalty to family and friends.  He touched the hearts of many family and friends who will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be November 24, 2020 at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home from 2-4pm.  In lieu of flowers you can make a dona tion in Phil's name to Gorman Scharpf .
