Percy Randle was born on June 30, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas, to Mother, Anna {Dwellingham} Randle and Father, Edgar D. Randle. They proceeded him in death as did his brother, Edgar D. Randle, his wife, Marian Randle and daughters Sandra Randle-Quinn, Elaine Alston and Denise Brown.
A career military man, Percy joined the US Army in 1954 and retired in 1974 with the rank of US Army Master Sergeant. He was a proud member of the 1st Infantry "Big Red One" Division, serving overseas in Germany, Japan and doing several missions during the Vietnam War.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia College in Springfield, Missouri. For the US Post Office in Council Bluffs, Iowa, retiring in 1994. The following year, he and his wife Marian moved to his childhood hometown of Alexandria, Louisiana.
Baptized into the Christian faith in his youth, he was raised Catholic and later converted to Baptist. In recent years he has been a dedicated worshipper at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Alexandria. In December 2017, he was honored by Pastor Rev. Randy Harris and the congregation as one of the faithful "Elders of the Church" and presented with a special plaque.
Percy L. Randle made his transition peacefully on Wednesday March 1st, 2018 at his home in Alexandria, Louisiana. The Family would like to acknowledge Compassionate Care for their unwavering assistance to our Father.
He leaves to mourn his passing daughters Carolyn Quinney, Richmond, Ca., Sandra Forbes, Denver, Colorado, Wilma Jean {Chichi} Randle, Dakar, Senegal, Priscilla Randle, Springfield, Missouri and Shevawn Gardner(Robert), Omaha, Nebraska. Anthony Hollins(Suzanne), Las Vegas, Nevada. Grandchildren, CJ Johnson, Denver, Colorado, Tanya Quinney, Richmond, California, Tranice Steele(Heather), Springfield, Missouri; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Percy was an avid fan of NASCAR and MMA Fighting. He loved his family and was devoted to them.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2018 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.Visitation
