Penny Parker Morgan, 73, Springfield, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family, close friends and her special caregivers, Krystan Vunoviec and Anne Goschy. She was born May 11, 1942 in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of Hampton and Frances Parker. She spent her early years moving around while her father was in the railroad. The family settled in St. Louis and Penny met and married John Morgan. She later moved her family to Springfield, where she's resided for over 40 years. Penny worked in retail with Levy Wolf Company and later retired after 20 years with JCPenney. Penny had an infectious smile and attitude, she loved to socialize, gossip, and tell stories with an extraordinary outcome that would bring a smile to your face. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Morgan. Penny is survived by four children, Robyn Fewell and her husband, Robert; John Morgan; Christopher Morgan; and Ty Morgan and his wife, Kimberly; a brother, Richard Parker and his wife, Joette; and two grandchildren, Sydney and Hampton Morgan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A small family service will be held at King's Way Church Columbarium on Friday, May 29, at 11 am.
