Peggy "Joyce" Wright, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of 81 following a short battle with cancer.  Joyce was born on February 6, 1942, in Greenfield, MO.  She graduated from Parkview High School in 1960 and attended SMSU where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She married the love of her life Jim on April 8, 1962. They celebrated their 61 ^st wedding anniversary this year.  Together, they raised two children Jeff and Juli.  Joyce followed in her mother's footsteps in ladies retail as a Buyer for Levy Wolf in downtown Springfield and then Barth's at the Battlefield Mall. She later purchased Retha's Fine Fashions prior to her retirement.

Joyce was extremely devoted to her family and loved celebrating and cooking for every holiday and birthday. She always looked forward to the yearly Christmas tradition of baking with "her girls."  She was always on the go and loved being outdoors and in the sunshine where she spent many days golfing and just having fun. She served on the Twin Oaks Ladies Classic Golf Tournament planning committee for many years ("this is my last year on this committee" she would always say) and enjoyed playing in tournaments with her best friends. Joyce also enjoyed playing cards and games, and cherished time with her lifetime Sister Friends – the Rummikub Group.  Joyce will forever be remembered for her devotion to her family, her loyalty to friends, her strength and laughter, her beautiful smile and cheerfulness, and of course, her kindness to those around her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Fritz and Loretta Robinson and her beloved grandmother "Grannie." She is survived by her loving husband Jim; her son Jeff; her daughter Juli Jordan and husband Jeff; two beautiful granddaughters - Casey Shayne and her wife Emily, and Courtney Brekken and her husband James; two young great grandchildren Honey and Beau, as well as baby Caden arriving in July; and brother-in-law David and wife Marsha.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of her life on Thursday, May 11, from 5 – 7 pm at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield. A private burial will take place with family at a later date.
