Obituary

Peggy Joanne Jenkins died December 11, 2021 at The Manor at Elfindale.  She was born in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Elmer and Vera Sleade, deceased.  Peggy is survived by her husband, the Rev. Max Jenkins, sons Dr. Jeffrey and Jan Jenkins, William Jenkins, Jay and Nelia Jenkins, grandsons Ryan Jenkins and Tyler Jenkins. She is also survived by a brother, Douglas and Patricia Sleade.

She was active in numerous civic and church organizations which included Welcome Wagon, Church Women United, and PEO.  She was a Sunday school teacher, a graduate of Transylvania University of Lexington KY,  and was a public school teacher.
Peggy was truly a helpmate to her husband in ministry.
Visitation will be Monday, December 13th at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home from 5 PM to 7 PM.  The memorial service will be Tuesday, December 14th at South Street Christian Church in Springfield, at 10:30 AM.
