Pearl B. Wilson, age 97,passed away October 21, 2014 in Springfield, MO. She was born August 17, 1917 in Laclede County, MO. She taught 7 years in one-room schoolhouses in Laclede County. After earning her Bachelor's Degree from now MSU and her Master's Degree from Drury, she taught at Holland Elementary for 27 years until her retirement in 1984. As a young widow, raising two small sons, she never failed in her quest to provide for her family. She accumulated numerous rental properties that she maintained until her passing. Pearl loved teaching, garage sales, flea markets and working in her yard tending to her beautiful flowers, but her favorite pastime was sharing a meal with her family. She was a stubborn, determined woman that served her well during her life. She was the true matriarch of her family. Pearl was preceded in death by husband, James Woodrow Wilson; son, Jerry Wilson; parents, Charles and Vada Buck; brothers, Harold, Warren and Haskell Buck; and sister, Ethel Cornelison. She is survived by son, Jack (Loana) Wilson; grandchildren, Jeff Wilson, Chris (Kathy) Wilson, Karla (Jay) Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Jeanie Wilson; sisters, Bonnie Ervin and Helen King; sister-in-law, Carol Jo Buck; great-grandchildren, Karlee (John) Davis, Chanley Jenkins, Hunter Jenkins and Sophia Wilson; nephews, Marchie Cornelison, Don King, Mike Ervin and Bill Buck; nieces, Pat Kresse, Peggy Bigler, Beth Ortman, Becky Dahl and Teresa King; and many special great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; and her loving church members, friends and many, many students. She is also survived by a very precious family friend, Mary Joyce Northcutt and members of Mission Hills Church of Christ. Many thanks to Mercy Hospital Hospice, Dr. Leonardo, Hospice Nurse, Amy, and to the entire 5th floor nurses, PCA, Chaplains and staff for their compassionate and loving care. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.
