Obituary

Pauline I. Peters

Pauline was a caring and thoughtful woman who valued faith and family above all else. She believed in the power of prayer and was certain her purpose in life was to pray daily for her loved ones. She always called friends and family to give a special message on birthdays and anniversaries.

Granddaughter to German immigrants, Pauline Imogene Peters was born November 27, 1935 to Herman and Helen Bauschlicher. She grew up on a farm in Corning, Arkansas. Pauline spent many days picking cotton in the fields until her fingers bled, something that greatly impacted the rest of her life. She was no stranger to tough work and frugal living.

Shortly after graduating high school, she moved to Springfield, Mo. and was a student at Draughon Business College. Pauline started attending Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active in Walther League. It was there that she met James 'Jim' Joseph Peters.

Pauline and Jim were married on March 25, 1956 and had five children – Matthew, Delana, Joel, Phillip, and Sarah. She was an excellent cook and made particularly delicious homemade noodles and pumpkin pie. Gardening and decorating were her favorite hobbies, and flowers were incorporated into both. Ever the competitor, playing Scat, Scrabble, and other games was another favorite past-time.

Pauline transitioned from labor to rest Thursday, June 9, 2022 in her home of nearly 50 years. She will be remembered by family and those close to her as a woman of strong faith. She was devoted to her family and she was devoted to God.

Pauline is survived by son Matthew/wife Brenda; daughter Delana/husband Alan Ellis; son Joel/wife Deb; son Phillip/wife Becky, daughter Sarah/husband Mark Hicks; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Pauline is preceded in death by her parents Herman and Helen Bauschlicher, her husband Jim, her sisters Clara Mack and Erlene Massey, brother Harold Bauschlicher, and numerous other loved ones.
