Obituary

Pauline Kacprowicz, 95, of Springfield, passed away on March 16, 2018. She was born in Arcola, Missouri, on January 11, 1923. She graduated from Arcola High School in 1941 and moved to Springfield to attend Draughon Business College. Subsequently, she went to work at Office Appliance Mechanical Institute, where she met her husband, Joseph, in 1947, and whom she married in 1949. Pauline eventually had eight children, and she devoted her life to raising them. She was a model of love and generosity, appreciating each child for their individual personalities and gifts, and always expressing her enduring love for each. Her kindness and good humor were so well known that her circle of friends grew from year to year, and even friends who had relocated would make a special effort to visit her in her home and remember her at holidays. Her children grown, she volunteered at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield for many years. Pauline is survived by her eight children: Jo Ann Twibell of Oklahoma City, OK; Daniel Kacprowicz and Felicia Menefee of Leawood, KS; Lauren Kacprowicz of Huntington Station, NY; Teresa Kacprowicz of Denver, CO; Jennifer and John Mooney of Marshfield, MA; Rebecca and Gary Long of Overland Park, KS; Thomas Kacprowicz and Candice Davis of Marshfield, MO; and Constance and Trent Ford of Columbia, MO. Her great- and grandchildren are Ty Twibell (Jo Ann) and his two children, Sumie and Ali; Samuel Kacprowicz and Paulina Morrow (Daniel); Jordan Mooney (Jennifer and John); Hunter Long (Rebecca and Gary); and Elijah and Caleb Kacprowicz (Thomas and Candice). Her family would especially like to thank the caregivers at the Strafford Care Center for the kind consideration they showed Pauline, and each of her children, in her final months. Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 26, at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Thomas Reidy celebrant. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kitchen, 1630 N. Jefferson, Springfield, MO 65803 or at https://www.thekitcheninc.org/donate/.
