Obituary

Paul Michael Urban, 78 years old, entered eternity and met Jesus, his Savior, on July 14, 2023.  Paul was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 22, 1945 to Dusan and Anne Simo Urban.  His family moved to Indianapolis Indiana, where they lived until his fathers death in 1959.  Paul and his mother returned to the Chicago area where he graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1963.  Paul married Nancy Rilea on November 5th, 1966 in LaGrange, Illinois.  They raised three sons; Dan, Tim and Gary both in the Chicago area and North Central Wisconsin.  Paul and Nancy later moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1995 to be closer to their sons, who had all settled in that area after college.  Upon retirement from Walmart home office in 2009, Paul and Nancy moved to Missouri.  They later relocated to the Springfield area in 2020.

Paul was known for his strong work ethic, organizational skills and the meticulous appearance of his vehicles and yard.  Paul loved Nascar, classic automobiles, and enjoyed fishing, music, farming/yard work and spending time with family.  He also enjoyed reading and studying his Bible.  Paul's spiritual hero was John MacArthur, and he appreciated and supported MacArthur's ministry and sermons.  Paul and his wife Nancy attended Calvary Bible Church in Nixa, Missouri.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents (Dusan and Anne), his sister Joyce Nelson (Joel), of Darien, Illinois, and his brother Glen Urban (Virdella) of Edgar, Wisconsin.  He is survived by his wife Nancy, the love of his life for almost 57 years; sons Dan of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Tim (Nicole) of Bixby, Oklahoma; and Gary of Tulsa, Oklahoma, grandchildren Olivia Urban of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Hannah Urban of Bixby, Oklahoma, and many relatives and special friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield Missouri on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, at 3 p.m.  Dr. Jason Peters (nephew), and Pastor Colter Rantz of Calvary Bible Church, Nixa will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memoriam of Paul Urban, to Grace to You Ministry, PO Box 4000; Panorama City, CA 91412.
