Paul V. Lees, 84 of Springfield, Missouri passed away at 3:55 AM Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Missouri Veterans Home, Mt. Vernon. He was born August 28, 1927 in Gary, Indiana. He was an avid sports fan all his life. His passion was his family, sports and jazz music. Paul is survived by his family who love him so much. Survivors include his wife, Viola Mae Lees; three daughters, Paula (Kevin) Byrne, Laura Lees, and Karyn (Danny) Edwards; a son, Jonathan (Lisa) Lees; seven grandchildren, Shannon (Sean) Casteel, Courtney Hupp, Brittany (Jack) Jewsbury, Kayley and Brett Edwards, Travis (Christine) Welsh, and Trevor Welsh (Amanda Bohrer); six great-grandchildren, Colton and Jessica Casteel, Henry and Vyla Hupp, Trevin Welsh, Aubrey Jewsbury and a seventh great-grandchild on the way; and a brother, Ray Loftain. Family graveside services will be Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. No visitation is planned.
