Obituary

Paul Edward Epps was born September 20, 1926 in Dora, MO and passed away at 85, September 12, 2012 in Springfield, MO. He moved to West Plains in his early life, graduating high school there. Two of his classmates and friends were Porter Wagner and Bill Virdeu. He sang in a men's quartet with Porter Wagner. They were "4 Sharps and a Flat". Paul was the "Flat." He had a real gift for comedy. He was in the navy in World War II and then attended SMS. He was in Car Sales for many years. He was with Don Wessel Olds-Honda for 35 years. He retired at age 76. He had many friends among the people he worked with and customers. He was really a people's man. He married Wanda Ann Bowers in 1960 and was married for 52 years. He was a Christian and looked forward to going home with the Lord and all the family and friends that have passed on. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He had a stroke on July 13 of this year and had renal failure that took his life. He is survived by his wife and three children Stephen Bowers and wife Eileen of Branson, MO; Patricia Ann Allison of Branson, MO; and Lelia Jo Bowers of Springfield; four grandchildren Maggie and Josh Bowers of Springfield; Jake Allison of Houston, TX; Jesse Allison of Washington, DC; three great-grandchildren Zachery Leo of Marshfield, MO; and Aden and Lexia Bowers of Branson, MO and many extended family and friends. Graveside services will be Saturday September 15, 2012 at 1:00PM in Historic Cemetery of Mountain View, Mountain View, AR under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. No formal visitation is planned however friends may call after 2:00PM Friday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri or the Victory Mission.
