Paul Richard Dorrough 65 passed away on Sunday April 7, 2013. Paul was born June 16th, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Parkview High School in Springfield, MO. Paul received his BFA from SMSU (MSU), then attended The Art Institute of Chicago and pursued extended studies in Greece. Upon his return to the United States Paul obtained his MFA from the University of Tulsa. After receiving his MFA, Paul moved back to Springfield. He became a brilliant local artist, and also displayed his works in galleries across the United States and Europe, including locations in New York, Florida and Paris. Much of his work captured the historical beauty of Springfield and its' residents. Paul is survived by his three children: Natalie McIntosh (Jake Brown), Michael Dorrough, and Samuel Dorrough; three siblings: John Dorrough, Sharon Dickey (David), and Gail Noggle (Mike); four grandchildren: Katelyn, Evan, Jensen, and Emma. Paul was also an Uncle to David, Jeff, Leslie, Angie, Amanda, and Adrianne. Paul will be missed by many, but his legacy and name will live on forever through his art work that is displayed throughout the area. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 4 - 6 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 6pm at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Springfield Art Museum or Springfield History Museum.
