Patrick Garrett Rhodes, 52, passed away September 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and an abundant amount of love. Patrick was born in Springfield, MO on December 17, 1963, to Michael and Alice Wiles Rhodes. His family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL shortly after his birth to start a boat yard. Patrick returned to Springfield in his teens and attended Parkview and Kickapoo high schools. In 1981 he joined the US Coast Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1982. He worked in various positions with Bass Pro Shops for 22 years, including the previous Wonders of Wildlife Museum and was working on the new Museum at the time of his illness. Patrick was born with a passion for sailing and the ocean. He loved to restore and care for boats and build canoes. His greatest loves however, were his children, his wife Vicky, and his granddaughter little Miss Maggie. Patrick and Vicky were married on October 14, 2000. He loved spending time with his family, flea-marketing, water gardening and landscaping. He was an amazing Dad, Step Dad, Husband, Son, Brother and Friend.

Patrick was preceded in death by an infant brother Sean, maternal grandparents Jack and Martha Wiles, and paternal grandfather John Rhodes. He is survived by his wife Vicky of the home; son, Garrett Rhodes and daughter Gillian Rhodes of Springfield, MO; stepchildren, Hannah Eisenhour (Lonnie Simon), Springfield, MO; SSgt. Levi (Crystal) Eisenhour, Camp Lejeune, NC; Bayli (Donald) Hamilton, Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Maggie Rhodes; step grandchildren, Ellanore Eisenhour and Lane Hamilton; mother Alice and step father Bill Roy, Springfield, MO; father Mike and step mother Joni Rhodes, Port St. Lucia, FL; brother Chris Rhodes, Springfield, MO; grandmother, Marie Rhodes (100 yrs. old Aug. 25, 2016), Deland, FL; father-in-Law, Bob Clark, Jasper, AR; mother of Garrett and Gillian, Mindy Rhodes, Springfield, MO; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Remembrance will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO. Graveside service will be Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Low Gap Cemetery, Jasper, AR with Rev. Kenneth Clark officiating.
